Five years ago I took on a new client who had heard I was a Quickbooks Pro Advisor and wanted my help in getting their chart of accounts off to a good start. They didn’t know that at that time, all my knowledge was in the desktop product. They launched their new business with Quickbooks Online (QBO). It turned out to be a fun learning experience for the two of us, as I learned new things about what Intuit was up to in the cloud. Two years ago, a client I assisted only once or twice moved to the cloud not long after upgrading his desktop software, and last year, a long-time client and friend started sniffing around QBO. While I’m now also certified in QBO, my personal and business books are still in the desktop product, where I feel I have more robust controls over reporting and other features.
