Each year, I wait until my clients have filed their taxes before I file. Historically, this has been because some of them file 1099&#8217;s &#8211; including mine &#8211; as part of their tax preparation and because my conscience is clearer when I&#8217;ve helped them through the thing toward which our year-long work culminates. With all my small-business clients&#8217; taxes behind us, I&#8217;ve started my own process, confident that I can put this whole matter to bed by Saturday, April 12th. We&#8217;ll see. I figure that with my clientele pleased as punch about submitting their Quickbooks reports to their accountants, I guess I&#8217;ll go ahead and file my taxes, too.
